About Oliver
Over the past 15 years, Oliver Torres has served the needs of countless patients, working as an Optician and eye care educator. Oliver started his optical career at the age of 19, working as a lab technician for Lenscrafters in San Francisco, Ca and he quickly climbed the ranks, getting promoted to lab manager within his first year.
Looking for a new experience, Oliver would go on to work for an independent optical store in Palo Alto. Here, he worked alongside a second generation Optician and had the opportunity to work on a new eyewear venture alongside the creative minds behind Flexon memory metal.
Once again seeking a new challenge and the opportunity to work alongside Ophthalmologists, Oliver started working for a private Ophthalmology practice in San Mateo.
In 2017, Oliver took his unique industry knowledge, and desire for patient care, and founded Eye Influence, a non-profit organization which teaches people all around the world about the importance of eye care. In their first year, Eye Influence videos reached over 150,000 views on YouTube and 11,500 blog views. Now, in 2019, Eye Influence has become the leading Digital Eye Strain and Blue Light education organization in the United States.
In 2018 Oliver published his first eye care eBook, Protecting Kids Eyes In A Digital Age, offering it as a free download on the Eye Influence website.
Outside of guiding Eye Influence, Oliver enjoys spending time with his family, playing music and watching his favorite sports teams, the Golden State Warriors, Liverpool and FC Barcelona.
