Opticians are out there and doing great things to help people see.  Wealthy Shades is just another example of that.  They sell sunglasses and computer glasses designed by Opticians to offer people stylish and affordable eyewear options.

Don't let the name fool you, Wealthy Shades is about more than sunglasses.  Their computer glasses are just as stylish, and at 98% BPF, you'll look good and protect your eyes from harmful blue light at the same time.

The Frames:

I personally tried model WS05 in color Blue/Tortoise.  The matte finish feels good to the touch and the spring hinges make these frames comfortable even on a big head like mine.  I usually wear a size 57 and this model (size 53) felt just fine.

I'm happy to say that I received frames that were straight and needed no extra adjustments.  It's not uncommon for glasses to come in uneven but thankfully that wasn't the case here.  They were ready to wear all day right out of the box.

Lens Quality:

Usually, when glasses claim to block 98% of blue light the lenses have a noticeable amber tint.  I'm not a big fan of walking around with lenses that have color.  It's distracting and people end up asking "what's wrong with your lenses?" rather than "Hey, those are cool glasses!"

Thankfully, WS computer glasses don't have that problem.  I was able to walk around my office wearing these and not once did I get asked about the lenses.  The frame on the other hand, received lots of compliments.  That's what I consider a good set of computer glasses; stylish frame and little color on the lenses all while blocking out blue light.

Areas That Need Improvement:

  • Frame Selection: With only 4 computer styles to choose from, I'd have to say that this is one area that needs improvement.  Also, while shopping on Amazon I found that not all color options are available without prescription.  Chances are this is dependant on inventory but nonetheless, it may discourage some people that don't need the magnification.

  • Frame Information: I think WS could do a better job of organizing their selection and product information.  The product description doesn't provide a model number or frame size, you have to search "wealthy shades computer" and select the frame based on the shape.  Their website is better organized then the Amazon page so maybe that will translate over in the near future.

In Conclusion:

I had a positive experience with the glasses and I'm sure you will too.  From the style of the frame to the high BPF, you'll enjoy wearing your WS all day.
